The Blessing of Boundaries

Contribution by Dr. Bakulesh Chauhan

Brief Description

The data are clear: Kids who grow up in homes where healthy boundaries are not set clearly, firmly, and lovingly generally grow up with a variety of handicaps. Children from permissive homes are found — on average — to be more self-centered, have poorer capacity for impulse control and self-regulation, and score lower on measures of social competence, achievement motivation, and cognition.
